Our client, DTS International Group approached Scintilla to conceptually design a portable mist dispensing unit – referred to as MedicMist. MedicMist was developed as a personal automatic mist dispenser. Designed to spray a small volume of disinfectant when the user came within a prescribed distance to other people. Development times needed to be short in order to meet market demand. The design aesthetic was also an important consideration. Potentially used across many countries and by people of varying demographics the aesthetic needed to be contemporary, intuitive and simple and most of all compact. It had to be something that people would want to carry.
After discussing the project requirements, levels of functionality, reviewing the original concept and researching the technology, Scintilla was able to create a number of quick sketch concepts for review, create 3D CAD models in Solidworks of the external form and internal packaging and present Keyshot concept renders to Chris in four days. This then enabled him to take the renders and 3D CAD data to his manufacturing partners in Taiwan and begin the process of detail design and manufacture.
DTS International Say...
The speed with which Scintilla understood the requirements and produced the final CAD data and images was truly amazing. Less than a week and I was able begin discussions, using the images as part of that discussion with my Taiwanese manufacturing partners.
