With over 38 years’ experience in applying design strategically at various levels from product portfolio definition to process development and improvement through to product design, engineering and manufacture. Ian applies his expertise in design-led innovation, market and product research, product development, user-centered design, industrial design and mechanical engineering to develop the best possible user-centric solutions. Ian’s experience spans medical, gaming and entertainment, consumer, technical, scientific, children’s and safety market sectors. Ian has tutored second and final year students of Integrated Product Design at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in the areas of design research, user-centered design and design dissertation (research and commercialisation). Ian is a professional member of the Design Institute of Australia, Australian Institute of Management and the Design Management Institute.
DORTE BELL MDIADorte is passionate about design and believes that its fundamental role is to help improve people’s lives by delivering exceptional, engaging experiences. In a world that is ever more complex and interconnected, Dorte applies design thinking to solve today’s complex problems. Dorte begins by deeply understanding her clients’ business context, their customers’ needs and their desired outcomes. She believes that decision making should be evidence-based and thus applies a variety of design research methods and tools to uncover key insights that underpin the development of appropriate solutions, be they new experiences, products, services, processes or plans.
